Rita (15), student at Hodayot Youth Village
“I believe in myself and that’s enough for me”
Rita – a Jewish girl from a new immigrant neighborhood
Eldest daughter of a crippled & alcoholic father and a mother that works nights as a hotel masseuse, Rita was saddled at a very young age of taking care of her large family. Life in the rough neighborhood of Tiberias put her in imminent danger of being caught up in the local drug scene.
‘My choice to go to a Youth Village saved me from getting hooked on drugs and alcohol. I found the courage to be who i want to be, and I hope to become a kindergarten teacher and share my story with other children about how the Youth Village helped me to change my life’
